Vinca casually sharpened her hatchets on the beach as the tourist walked past and stared. She would give an occasional wave and smile now and then.
“What’s this, a freak show?” A tourist asked, staring at Vinca.
“No sir, this is just me preparing to protect the beach.” She smiled. “I would leave if I were you,” Vinca suggested.
The tourist proceeded to kick her gear to the ground. “Get out of here weirdo, no one wants you here!” he shouted.
“I see, you’re a tough guy, ” she responded. “I’ll make sure I stay out of your way, kind sir.” She said, holding her hands up.
“Damn right, you will!” he yelled, kicking sand on her legs.
Vinca watched him as he walked away. “He’ll be speaking a different tone soon,” she mumbled, picking up her gear.
Vinca took a deep breath as she finished sharping her gear. Looking up to the sky, she noticed it was starting to get dark. Picking up her weapons and strapping them to her hips, she took another deep breath. Well, I guess it’s about that time, Vinca thought. Moments later, a mist started to make its way from the ocean onto the beach. Lightning coursed throughout the mist, and harsh grumbles could be heard throughout.
“Three, two, one…” Vinca counted down, watching the crowd of people on the beach as they erupted with panic. “Here we go.” She said, pressing the button on her headphones, activating her music.
Slowly, she walked towards the water as hordes of ravenous beast emerged from the mist, eating and killing anyone in their way. Vinca pulled her hatchets from her hip and danced to the music in her ears. Quickly picking up her pace, she danced her way to save a guy from being eaten by a crazed beast. Although she couldn’t understand what the guy was saying after she impaled her hatchet in the skull of the creature, she smiled, nodded her head, and watched him run away. Turning up her music, she danced to the beat while observing the battlefield. In a flash, she promptly raced across the beach, slaying all of the creatures. Vinca continued to dance and survey the beach, until she barely dodged something that came flying from the mist, surprising her. The object knocked her headphones off, angering her.
“Vinca!” A man yelled as he stepped onto the beach.
Vinca turned around slowly, rage in her eyes. “Those were my favorite headphones, and the temptations were up next, Mumun.” she huffed.
“Give me the crystal, and I’ll let this one live.” Mumun held a man by his neck, choking him.
“Ha! I don’t like that guy, he’s not nice at all,” she responded, noticing it was the man who kicked sand on her.
“Don’t test my patience, Vinca! I will kill him.” Mumun said, putting the man’s head underwater.
Vinca shrugged her shoulders and turned away from him. After counting down from the number ten in her head, Vinca grabbed another hatchet from her hip, and quickly turned around, launching it at Mumun. As the hatchet made its way towards Mumun, Vinca raced behind it. Mumun caught the hatchet in one hand, but to stop Vinca, he had to let his hostage go. With the element of surprise on her side, Vinca spun, mid-air, and landed a spinning double kick on her enemy. The hostage quickly jumped out of the water and ran. Now that Vinca only had one enemy left, she didn’t have to worry about any more civilians dying.
“It’s just you and me now, Mumun!” She yelled.
In a sudden flash, Vinca saw a burst of lightning come her way. Twirling her hatchet, she used it as a conductor and diverted the electricity into the sky. To Vinca’s dismay, Mumun came ravaging through the waters and punched her with a hand full of lightning, sending her tumbling through the sand.
“My crystal, or you die. I won’t ask again.” He declared.
Vinca shook her head to shake off the blow when she glanced up and noticed someone’s headphones on their towel.
“Don’t mind if I do,” she said, snatching up the headphones.
Quickly, she connected the headphones to her device, and immediately, the beat from a Temptations song came on.
“Oh yeah, let’s do this,” she mumbled to herself, staring down Mumun, who glared at her in disbelief.
He threw a few more lightning bolts at her, but she danced her way out of there paths. Full of anger, Mumun sprinted towards her and threw fist after fist, but it didn’t faze her. After dodging countless times, Vinca promptly landed her hatchet in the side of his neck. Immediately after, the mist started to go away, and the sun came back out.
“Whelp, until next year,” Vinca said as she danced her way off the beach.
“Hey, those are my headphones,” A man said as Vinca walked off the beach.
Vinca turned and noticed it was the jerk that kicked sand on her. She danced over to him, and swung her hatchet at his head, cutting off a small portion of his hair.
“Whose headphones are these?” she asked grimly.
The man shook with fear, “Yours.”
“Why thanks, you’re so kind to let me have them,” she replied.
Still shaking with fear, the man watched Vinca as she let the music move her out of his view.
