Navi leaned down and scooped some mud into his hand. He used his robotic eye to scan its properties. His scanner beeped, indicating the results were positive, the beast he was hunting had gone this way. His eye could now see the faint tracks of the creature up ahead. Navi quickly sprinted, following the tracks until he came upon a cliff. His eye started flashing a red X, indicating it could no longer track the creature. Navi looked down below the cliff and saw nothing but a stream of lava. Couldn’t have gone down there, he thought. As Navi observed the terrain looking for any sign of the creature, his watch flickered rapidly, warning him of an incoming threat. He stood up and gripped the rifle on his back as his head spun around, trying to find the danger until he heard a noise coming from the skies and quickly looked up. A giant beast with wings protruding from its back unleashed a harsh screeching sound that sent Navi’s ears into a ringing panic. He slowly shook the ringing and gathered himself as the beast came diving down at him with its claws out.

“Not today!” Navi yelled as he jumped out of the way.

The beast ascended back into the skies and circled around the area.

“When the hell did you get wings!” Navi hollered as he grabbed his rifle.

As the beast came down for another attempt at the hunter, Navi took aim and shot a hook from his rifle into the beast wing. As it pierced the wing, Navi pulled the trigger sending an electric current through the wire into the body of the creature. Got ya, he thought, as the monster screeched in pain. Navi slowly lost his grip on the weapon as the beast wiggled. When he finally lost the weapon, the creature quickly flew away as Navi chased it down. Turning on his exoskeleton, Navi moved faster as he chased down his target. Navi made a last-ditch effort to leap for the weapon as the creature flew over the cliff. Barely grabbing the weapon, Navi hung from the rifle, holding down the trigger as the beast finally gave in and crash-landed.

“Well, you weren’t so tough,” Navi said as he walked over to the beast head, and delivered a swift cut, slicing his prey’s head off.

Navi picked the head up and placed it in one of his containment containers. Walking away from the beast, on to his next prey, he could hear something behind him. When he turned to see what the noise was, he could see a different head growing on the beast.

“You’ve got to be kidding me.”

This one was kind of hard for me trying to tell a story within 500 words… It was always so much more that I wanted to add to the story, but I had to keep taking things away lol. For my people out there that write FF within 500 words, if you have any tips and tricks for it, let me know because… mannnnnnn I think I’m going to have to rewrite this with 1K words lol. All in all, I hope you guys enjoyed it, and look for the future story to be a little bit longer than this one. Have a great day!
