Elisa grabbed her infant child from the hut, grabbed her lantern, and charged into the darkness of the forest. She could hear the screeching screams of the innocent echoing Off in the distance as the demons rampaged the village. As she fled, she started to hear footsteps behind her. Elisa swung her lantern around and saw nothing but red eyes in the far distance. Picking up her speed, she ran as fast as her body would let her until she reached Morzun’s cabin.
“Morzun! Please help, Please help me!” Elisa screamed as she banged on his door.
Morzun opened the door, angry flames sparking from his mouth. “Leave here,” he grumbled and slammed his door close.
The demons had caught up to Elisa and surrounded her as she stayed by his door. Her heart pounded as she looked around, not knowing what to do. A small demon slowly took steps towards her trying to grab at her feet, but she kicked it away.
“Morzun, I know you hate the humans for what they did to you, but I see you playing with the children all the time. Please just protect my baby, I don’t want him to die. Please, Morzun, Please!” She begged.
Still, Morzun didn’t open his door again. Elisa placed her baby on Morzun’s cabin window seal and picked up a large branch and tried to fight off the demons. One of them got a hold of her and dragged her away from the cabin.
“I leave my child to you, Morzun…” Elisa wailed, as her life slowly faded away.

The demons moved in, slowly trying to grab the child from the window seal, but Morzun emerged from his cabin and grabbed the head of the first demon he saw. He slowly crushed the skull of the beast in his hand as he stared down the rest of the demons who surrounded his home. The rest of the demons watched in fear as Morzun killed their comrade.
“LEAVE HERE,” Morzun fumed.
The demons slowly scurried back into the forest, until one hulking beast stepped forward.
“Hand over the child, Morzun!” The demon demanded.
Morzun bore his fangs, took a deep breath, and released a massive flame that decimated the hulking demon.
“Anyone else?” Morzun questioned, taking a step towards the horde.
The demons gazed at him in fear before fleeing back into the forest. Morzun looked at the baby, and sorrow was the only thing he felt for the child. He didn’t know how to care for a human child, but he would honor her wish.
“I shall call you Ecaeris.”
