“The test subject is coming along better than we could have ever expected, sir,” Linda beamed.
“So, I would be a twelve-year-old weapon?” Gino asked.
“Yes sir, we have composed the genetic makeup of this body with numerous test subjects who specialized in assassination, strength, sight, and the list goes on. We even managed to get animal DNA inside, and the body has adapted their DNA into its own.” Linda explained as she flipped through her tablet. “All it needs is a host to take over.”
“I see, how long until I can transfer into the body?” Gino wondered as he walked over to the processing pod, and pressed his hand against it.
“With a little luck, we can start tests, and after the tests, we can get you prepped in about six months.”
“I don’t have time for luck. I need skills. The skills that will put me in this body in a matter of weeks, not months!” Gino condemned as he peered inside the pod, staring at the body that was having air pumped into its lungs.
“Yes, sir. We will get right on it.” Linda shivered at her boss’s remark.
Gino walked out of the lab, and Linda immediately got to work at her console, trying to run tests on the body. She barked orders at her team to make sure they were at their consoles, getting things done. In a rush of movements, Linda mistakenly transferred one of the test subject’s consciousness into the body, and the body accepted it. Her eyes enlarged as she turned around to observe the body’s reaction through the pod. The lab’s alarms went off, and everyone turned their attention towards the body. The subject’s eyes opened, and the boy glared at everyone inside the lab.
“Initiate shutdown procedure and put the body back to sleep!” Linda ordered her subordinates.
One of the lab workers ran back to his counsel and started the procedure. The boy watched and quickly punched the glass pod, weakening it. The shutdown procedure started to send nanobots into the pod to force the body into a state of sleep. Still, the boy delivered a powerful kick to the glass, shattering it.
“Who… are… you… people.” The subject struggled to get out, as he stepped out of the pod
Linda slowly walked towards him, “we are your creators, and we need you to stay right where you are.” She continued walking while giving her subordinate a hint to fire the stun gun.
The scientist fired the stun gun at the boy, and with one quick leap, the boy dodged, and the round missed. Rage boiled in his eyes as he dove towards Linda, placing his hands around her neck.
“Are you trying to hurt me?” He asked Linda, his words flowing now.
“No… We just want you to be safe.”
“I don’t trust you…” The subject groused.
As they spoke, guards rushed into the office, firing stun rounds at the boy, but in a matter of seconds, he had appeared around the room in flashes, knocking out the guards. Linda was astonished at his movement speed, her eyes couldn’t keep up with him. In another flash, he was back with his hand around Linda’s neck.
“I don’t want to hurt anyone. Make sure no one else enters this room.” The boy whispered.
As the words left his mouth, another wave of guards entered the room and began firing. The boy let out a vicious roar and made his way to the window.
“Don’t!” Linda yelled. “This is the twenty-seventh floor!” she warned.
Still, the boy leaped. Linda and the others ran towards the window and looked down, but saw nothing.
“Look! he’s flying.” Someone yelled.
They watched in awe, amazed at what the boy could do.
“What the hell happened in here?” Gino asked, “And where the hell is my body!”
