Cypher

“One way or another, we will get the information out of you.” Det. James assured the suspect.

“I want my lawyer,” Peter told the detective.

“Well, I guess since you asked for a lawyer, that means we can no longer do this the easy way. Sit tight while I go get you a lawyer on the phone.” Det. James walked out of the interrogation room, purposely leaving the door cracked.

Peter sat at the table with a grin on his face until the door squeaked opened and emerged Cypher.

“Well aren’t you a tall glass of wine, I’d love to talk to you, but I already told the other detective I wanted a lawyer.” Peter grinned, “But ya know, maybe after this is over, you can call me, and we could have a real talk.”

Cypher grinned and sat down at the table, “Well, we could still just talk if you want. You’re actually a pretty nice-looking guy.”

Peter reached across the table to touch Cypher’s hand, “Well, we could talk about you, and I over dinner tonight.” He smiled.

“That would be lovely,” Cypher’s grin left her face as she gripped Peter’s hand tightly.

“Wh-what are you doing?” Peter said, wincing in pain while Cypher’s enhanced hand gripped his.

“Defending myself.” She responded.

Cypher lifted Peter up from his seat and tossed him to the wall. Followed by a punch to his gut before he could hit the ground. Peter coughed up blood, slowly falling to the floor.

“YY-You, c-can’t do this. It’s illegal.” Peter disputed.

“Illegal for cops maybe, but I’m not a cop. I do what I want really, and unless you tell me where you stashed the kids, I’m going to show you exactly what I want.” Cypher explained.

“I-I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“That’s okay, I’ll make you remember.” She replied.

Cypher’s face turned grim as she tossed Peter around the interrogation room. Every time he started to lose consciousness, Cypher would strike him, sending a shock through his body to wake him up.

“P-Please, s-stop,” Peter begged.

“Hm, are you ready to talk yet?” Cypher asked, looking over her shoulder, but Peter just stared at her. “Well, I’m running out of time, so I guess I might as well just kill you before the cops come back.”

A look of death came over Cypher’s face as steam shot out of her arms.

“Okay, the kids are in the snake district at warehouse 47,” Peter said as her fist narrowly missed his face.

He looked at the hole she pushed into the cement wall and passed out.

“Damn, I really wanted to punch him with that,” Cypher mumbled to herself as her arm cooled down.

“I’m sending a unit over there now, thanks for the help. Did you really have to go overboard like that?” Det. James asked as he walked back into the interrogation room.

“It was self-defense,” Cypher responded.

“Somehow, I really doubt he’d be stupid enough to attack you, Cypher.” Det. James admitted.

“Just remember, I get the bounty on his head for helping you out,” Cypher concluded as she walked out the door.
